New Jersey Gov. Facing New Criminal Investigation

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie is not enjoying a good week due to the reason that while traveling abroad, he stoked controversy by pandering to the anti-vaccination crowd and was said as wasting taxpayer money on extravagant travel that put him in a difficult situation with organizations that had business prior to the state.

It is disclosed that Governor Christie is under a new criminal investigation for abuse of power related to the firing of a prosecutor from the job who talked about dismissing a case against Christie’s political allies. The case has not been given a conclusion for years as the fired prosecutor, whose name is Bennett Baryln, claimed he had been fired from the job due to political causes.

Another case is also under investigation by the state of New York which is of fraud in bond documents related to the use of Port Authority of New York and New Jersey funds to repair the Pulaski Skyway.

“Federal authorities have launched a criminal investigation into New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie, as well as members of his administration, a man at the center of the investigation told ABC News. The U.S. attorney’s office in New Jersey has interviewed former Hunterdon County Assistant Prosecutor Bennett Barlyn, who claims he was fired because he objected to Christie officials dismissing indictments against political allies of the governor.

Barlyn was dismissed from the Hunterdon County Prosecutor’s Office in September 2010 and later brought a whistleblower case against the Christie administration that currently is in the discovery phase. He has consistently said he was fired for objecting to the quashing of indictments against the county’s sheriff and two subordinates — all political supporters of Christie’s. The governor’s office previously has dismissed the accusations as being “conspiratorial nonsense”.

It is rumored that Christie is attempting to rally support for a 2016 presidential campaign. Outside of billionaire Home Depot founder Ken Langone, Christie’s supporter is not much liked by the base and losing establishment support to former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Christie’s possibilities for the GOP nomination are decreasing.

There are chances that there will be charges and trials of former Christie Administration, officials announced prior to the New Hampshire primary guaranteeing that the Christie campaign will have to devote a good deal of its time discussing. Despite the corruption done and ineffectiveness, Christie is qualified to lead the country.
