New Jersey – This Week In Crime – 20 November

Police took a Middlesex County teenager 5 times into custody in 12 days and a 21-year-old Bergen County man allegedly destroyed American flags.

Both these individuals are from a list of individuals who were either charged with, convicted of, or sentenced for getting involved in different crimes in New Jersey in the past week. Following is a list of individuals facing criminal charges in New Jersey:

A 19-year-old teenager was taken into custody 5 times in the time period of 12 days, four of his five arrests were for possessing marijuana, whereas the fifth charge was for driving while intoxicated.

A 21-year-old man allegedly destroyed USA flags and holiday decorations due to which he is charged with two counts of criminal mischief. According to the police, he may be charged with additional offenses because a few individuals reported similar cases in which he was involved.

A 26-year-old East Orange man called 911 and said that someone is going to harm Newark Mayor Ras Baraka; he was giving wrong information due to which he was taken into custody.

A 41-year-old Maywood man was taken into custody by the police who hit a pedestrian 2 times with his vehicle in the parking lot of Costco in Teterboro.

2 individuals are in the hospital as they injured each other in a quarrel over money. The 47-year-old man and 44-year-old woman injured each other with a weapon similar to a knife and they both are charged with:

  • Aggravated assault
  • Unlawful possession of a weapon
  • Possession of a weapon for unlawful purpose

A 27-year-old Sussex man injured and took the possessions from a hiker at Wallkill River National Wildlife Refuge. He was the same individual who was involved in the case of setting 33 vehicles at fire at a car dealership.

According to the cops, a 12-year-old boy used a BB gun to shoot and kill his brother’s dog for which he is charged with two counts of animal cruelty and possession of a weapon for an unlawful purpose.

A 33-year-old man tried to kill a co-worker using a sewer pipe for which he is sentenced to 5 years in jail.
